Carnival Mardi Gras

We’ve been building up to this.

Mardi Gras sails in 2020 with a nod to where we’ve been and a salute to where we’re headed. Our vision involves inspiring you to have a great vacation!

Mardi Gras: Fun-Fueled Vacation Innovation

When we launched our first ship, 1972’s TSS Mardi Gras, we made cruising a lot less stuffy, a bit less fancy, the kind of fun everybody could enjoy. Nobody expected this ship to change the cruise world, but… here we are! In 2020 we’ll be launching a brand-new ship with a familiar name. You guessed it: Mardi Gras. We aren’t just paying homage to our first ship — in cruising circles this name suggests innovation, signals the start of something big. And it shouts “fun!” at the top of its lungs. We’re building this new Mardi Gras to live up to that legacy, so start daydreaming now! For one thing, this ship introduces Zones — six themed areas packed with brand-new experiences for eating, drinking and spectacularly getting down to fun. More announcements are still to come, but we’re all ready to pull the wraps off what may be the most thrilling: BOLT™, the first-ever rollercoaster at sea! Everybody can enjoy Mardi Gras, sailing in 2020. Come on down!

Havan Staterooms & Suites

Consider your Havana stateroom or suite your own island resort aboard Mardi Gras. Most important is the exclusive location: near the Havana Bar & Pool. This relaxation pool is your members-only spot by day, and a fun-for-all hotspot when the sun goes down. Indoors, all Havana staterooms feature a unique décor, but step up to a Havana Cabana for an extra-large outdoor chill space. Step into a Havana Cabana suite for even more space, plus a luxurious rain shower. (All Havana stateroom guests must be 12 or older.)

Cloud 9 Spa Staterooms & Suites

Cloud 9 Spa staterooms on Mardi Gras feature exclusive décor and in-room amenities to help soothe you after a long day’s fun — spa bathrobes and slippers, plus toiletries by Elemis. Book one of these staterooms and enjoy priority spa reservations, unlimited access to the thermal suites, free fitness classes, exclusive discounts and more! And you can have comfort and value — Mardi Gras’s got a full range of Cloud 9 staterooms in all sizes, from cozy Interiors to stretch-out Suites.

      Family Harbor Staterooms & Suites

Family Harbor staterooms, with their unique nautical décor, can be found near Mardi Gras’s own Family Harbor Lounge — an exclusive spot with breakfast, snacks during the day, plus board games, family movies, video games and more. The benefits don’t end there — your little girls and boys eat free in most onboard specialty restaurants and get a free evening of Night Owls babysitting service, so you can enjoy a little alone time.

        Balcony Staterooms

Balcony staterooms are proof that while it’s great to be cruisey… on vacation, breeziness is a virtue too. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Mardi Gras, you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis. Designed for kicking back al fresco, you’re in for some amazing ocean views… views so stunning you’ll just have to feel ‘em to believe ‘em.

          Ocean View Staterooms

These comfy rooms with a view let you take in the scenery as you sail toward your beautiful destinations. And how about those views? Nowhere on land will you find anything like ‘em. But the views aren’t all that matters here — Ocean View staterooms on Mardi Gras are a little bit bigger than Interior rooms and most feature a supremely loungeable couch for those times when neither lying nor standing will do.

            Interior Staterooms

Here’s the most affordable way to experience Mardi Gras, without cutting even a single corner in the comfort department. With an Interior stateroom you’ll get a full private bathroom, your choice of bed size and layout — covered in linens you can feel at home in — all of which make this truly a great spot for curling up after a long day’s fun.

              Suites

Get all the comforts of home and even a few extras. Since your huge Suite aboard Mardi Gras affords you VIP status, you’re in the priority line when getting on and off the ship, plus you’re going to enjoy guaranteed dining times and other exclusive perks! A Suite is the ultimate way to enjoy the ship, and the extra in-room comfort definitely goes a long way during your getaway. So feel free to put your feet up or stretch out on the extra-large balcony, there’s always room.

Inspired by both mmm & yum!

Whether it’s casual munching or sit-down elegance you’re hungry for, we can’t wait to throw open the doors and share all this dining variety with you.

                Experience: cover

                Food: bbq

With choices like brisket, sausage, baby back ribs and dry-rubbed chicken, our pros do the smoking right there over hickory wood before serving them up at your table. You’re in Guy Fieri’s house — Mardi Gras has Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse | Brewhouse. Now about the brews: this house of BBQ tradition doesn’t just satisfy your hunger — you’ll also enjoy our all-new, exclusive line of Parched Pig™ craft brews. There’s a smoked porter, a farmhouse ale, a hoppy IPA and a toasted amber, all brewed just feet from your table… and nowhere else in the world. Guy's Burger Joint

                  Experience: complimentary

                  Food: american

We call Mardi Gras’s onboard burger spot Guy’s Burger Joint. We teamed up with Guy Fieri to design not just the burgers and fries, but to help bring in the kind of rustic atmosphere you’d find at a roadside burger shack somewhere off a coastal highway. All signs point to ambiance — and serious flavor — so try a burger dressed up the way Guy likes it, or take it off-roading… to the nearby topping bar, where you can make it your own.

                    Bonsai Teppanyaki

                    Experience: complimentary_extras

                    Food: asian

It’s a meal, a performance, and it’s definitely unforgettable. The Bonsai Teppanyaki experience is set to delight guests aboard Mardi Gras. Take a little time out of vacation to sit down to a selection of tempting appetizers, before your chef prepares the main course featuring selections of meats, tofu, fish, shrimp or lobster… right at your table. In the teppanyaki tradition — and Carnival’s tradition of fun — expect an interactive, satisfying meal full of surprise and delicious delight.

                      Bonsai Sushi

                      Experience: cover

                      Food: sushi

So maybe you’ve had sushi before, but have you tried it at Bonsai Sushi? This is Carnival’s onboard seafood-and-soy-sauce spot, and we think you’ll enjoy our latest location, aboard Mardi Gras. Dine indoors or out amidst carefully-pruned bonsai trees, while enjoying a delectable menu with sit-down service. Rounding out the meal: soups, sides, sakes and desserts. So the next time you’re taking a stroll down the onboard promenade, stop at Bonsai Sushi for a roll, a box or maybe order a whole sushi ship — seaborne satisfaction for two.

                          Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

                          Experience: cover

                          Food: steakhouse

Haute cuisine meets atmosphere at Fahrenheit 555, a dining experience that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best steakhouses on land. Except this one’s at sea — aboard Mardi Gras. Ours features your choice of steak cuts, lobster, lamb and more… and inside, there’s even a full bar that pours great pairings. Outside, there’s seating for dining al fresco. These are the building blocks of an amazing experience — delectable elements that combine with great service to offer an evening to remember.

                            The Chef's Table

                            Experience: complimentary_extras

                            Food: chef

When you cruise on Mardi Gras, make sure to reserve a seat at The Chef’s Table. At this small gathering of foodies you’ll indulge in a cascading series of delectable plates as our chef… honestly, kind of shows off a little! And that’s a great thing for guests gathered around the table for dinner. Close your eyes as you savor a series of courses for the main event, but prepare to have them opened during a galley tour — a behind-the-scenes appetizer event that offers a look at where all that magic gets prepared.

                              JiJi Asian Kitchen

A modern restaurant inspired by a millennia-old society, JiJi Asian Kitchen on Mardi Gras serves up enticing dishes in an eclectic space that brings not just good food — but also good fortune — to the table. You’ll enjoy your meal among Asian prayer rolls and Mongolian-inspired fabrics in this unique culinary experience. JiJi offers a full-service menu featuring a mix of exotic and familiar dishes designed to challenge and delight your senses.

                                Cucina Del Capitano

                                Experience: cover

                                Food: italian

At Cucina del Capitano on Mardi Gras, who you’ve got gathered around the table is truly as important as what’s being served there. At our table you’ll enjoy delicious Italian favorites — we serve them family-style because we know that sharing large plates and sharing tales of your day’s adventures goes hand-in-hand. Speaking of which, our walls are adorned with old snapshots from our officers’ family albums, proving that the rustic Italian-farmhouse atmosphere definitely isn’t for show.

                                  BlueIguana Cantina

                                  Experience: complimentary

                                  Food: mexican

BlueIguana Cantina is Mardi Gras’s onboard taco-and-burrito place, featuring freshly-made Mexican faves. Because BlueIguana is all about you, we’ll make it with the ingredients you choose — tell us which meat, veggies, rice and beans you’re in the mood for — and then we’ll hand it over to you for the finishing touches. Here, that means a detour to the salsa bar to fire it up… or if you’re not feeling the heat, that’s cool too. Any way you dress it, expect a meal that’s suited up to satisfy.

                                    Big Chicken

                                    Experience: complimentary

                                    Food: fast

We heard our CFO wanted us to build a new chicken restaurant… and we were all a little confused. Then we found out they meant Shaq, our Chief Fun Officer. (Happens all the time!) Anyway, when Shaq tells you to build a chicken joint on board, you start warming up immediately. The big guy brings his poultry know-how and good taste to the seas with Big Chicken, debuting in 2020 aboard Carnival Radiance.

Just like Shaq’s a multitalented entertainer, his restaurant is no one-trick chick. Step up to the counter for lunch or dinner and walk away with your choice of chicken sandwiches, crispy chicken strips or juicy fried chicken baskets… plus side dishes, like potato salad and jalapeño slaw. Early-morning buzzer-beaters are invited to enjoy a breakfast featuring classics like a three-cheese omelet, chicken biscuits, and biscuit and egg. And so’s everybody else — breakfast is served all day!

                                      Dining Room

                                      Experience: complimentary_extras

                                      Food: casual

“Hey, which side does the fork go on?” is a question you’ll never have to ask at a dining room dinner aboard a Carnival cruise… we set the table for you. We also bring to the table a full three courses in an experience that’s filling, but never stuffy — after all, you’re just as likely to catch waiters table-dancing as you are to order dessert. Dessert’s included (along with the rest of your meal, by the way) in your fare. But don’t skip straight to dessert, because the main course is the main attraction — drop in daily and enjoy a rotating menu of delectable favorites like steak, roasted duck, scallops and prime rib.

Tip: When you book, choose Early Dining or Late Dining for reserved seating nightly, or go with Your Time Dining to chow whenever the clock strikes “hungry.”

                                        Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast

                                        Food: brunch

Pack your imagination, but don’t forget your appetite as the whole family embarks on a breakfast that’s part meal, and part journey into the deliciously whimsical world of Dr. Seuss.

Sit down to a truly fantastical feast at the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with The Cat in the Hat and Friends. Bright colors and patterns decorate your table, which features fun and unique menus.

Feast! Feast! Feast! Lose yourself exploring a delicious menu where you’ll find “Green Eggs and Ham,” brightly colored fruit, gravity-defying pancake stacks, funky french toast, “Moose Juice” ‘n’ ”Goose Juice”… and much more. (Classic breakfast offerings are available as well.) Breakfast is also the perfect time to meet and greet the stars of Dr. Seuss — characters will be around for special photo opportunities and fun interactions, making this a meal to remember.

                                          Lido Restaurant

                                          Experience: complimentary

                                          Food: buffet

Featuring a nice variety of casual dining options like Mongolian Wok, Chef’s Choice, Salad Bar, Carnival Deli and more, the Lido Restaurant has something — or more likely, at least a few somethings — to satisfy your craving. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, plus food options for everyone, you can enjoy your personal favorites in company of family and friends for lunch or dinner… or even breakfast! It’s also where you can find our pizza, soft serve and frozen yogurt — all open 24 hours a day, which ought to be enough for anybody.

                                            JavaBlue Cafe

                                            Experience: complimentary_extras

                                            Food: cafe

Maybe you take your coffee straight-up, or perhaps you prefer your pick-me-up with an upgrade. From the simply caffeinated to the simply sublime, nothing satisfies your coffee craving like JavaBlue Café, featuring fun twists on the hot and cold drinks you enjoy. While the coffee is the main event here, there’s more to JavaBlue — enjoy the baked treats we like to call “comfort snacks”… which you’ll call “delicious!”

                                              Pizzeria Del Capitano

                                              Experience: complimentary

                                              Food: pizzeria

On Carnival ships, the captain tends to be kind of a big deal — almost a celebrity. On a few select ships, they’ve even got their own pizza kitchen. The best part? Pizzeria del Capitano is open to everyone, 24 hours a day! And since our captains tend to be Italian, you know the quality of the ingredients truly pass muster. (Sorry, nautical pun.) Hand-tossed dough, made from imported Italian flour, plus fresh mozzarella form a solid base, and a choice of toppings put the finishing touches on this piping hot, fresh-from-the-oven mealtime — or anytime — classic. (Also, try our caesar salad — buono, capisce?)

                                                Fresh Creations

                                                Experience: complimentary_extras

                                                Food: healthy

Sun, sea… salad? Yep! Leave the pizza and burgers for the kids — or maybe just for later — because we’ve got an all-grown-up chopped salad station right inside Serenity. Fresh Creations is free and it’s there when you need it most: on sea days, those lazy afternoons of lounging around and enjoying all the good stuff your ship has to offer. There’s plenty of good here, starting with nearly a dozen varieties of greens (really!), tons of protein and veggie options… only to be topped by dressings creamy, vinaigretty… and in some cases freshly made right there. While made-to-order salads are always appealing, our chef has also designed a few specialties, like “Zensalada,” “Just Arugula Guy” and “Romaine Calm.” (Very punny, chef.)

                                                  Swirls

                                                  Experience: complimentary

                                                  Food: ice_cream

Got room for dessert? Sure you do! Swirls ice cream lets you enjoy the sweeter side of brain freeze with a treat that’ll have you smiling from ear to ear. Choose from chocolate, vanilla or strawberry… or make your own mix swirled as high as you can balance it. Open on Lido deck 24/7, our frozen yogurt and soft-serve ice cream is a great way to beat the heat all day, or the perfect nightcap after a long evening of fun.

                                                    Seaday Brunch

                                                    Experience: complimentary

                                                    Food: brunch

Forget what “they” say — the most important meal of the day is brunch. Slumberers can sleep in and still enjoy breakfast favorites, while early-risers get a head-start on lunch. And Seaday Brunch brings everybody’s favorite mid-morning meal to your Carnival cruise, and does it right. You’ll enjoy huevos rancheros, special french toast, loaded mac-n-cheese… and yes, more ways to cook eggs than we even thought was possible. Chow down and fuel up — you’ve got lots of exploring to do, across the ship, for the rest of the day.

                                                      24-Hour Room Service

                                                      Experience: complimentary

                                                      Food: room

So you’re in the mood for some good eats, but you’d rather stay in your comfy, cozy stateroom? Really, who could blame you? Simply pick up the phone and order something tasty from our extensive room service menus. And since you get hungry when you get hungry, room service is available any time of the day (or night), and it’s always delivered right to your door.

Tip: There’s a menu of salads, sandwiches and sweet stuff we’ll bring you — completely free — during the day, plus hot food options available for a small fee. Late-night menu options (after 10 PM) are also available for a small fee.

                                                        Disabled Facilities

Carnival ships have specially designed staterooms for guests using wheelchairs. They have two classifications of staterooms: Accessible staterooms are reserved for guests that have a mobility disability or disability that requires the use of the accessible features that are provided in the stateroom. Carnival require their guests to acknowledge the need for the accessible stateroom by completing a Special Requirements Form. This form will be sent to guests once the reservation has been secured and they have notified Carnival Cruise Lines that they or the person the stateroom is being secured for, requires the stateroom. If an accessible stateroom is booked by a guest who does not need the accessibility features in the stateroom, they may be moved at any time to another non-accessible stateroom in order to accommodate a guest with a disability. Modified Cabins: these cabins are designed for guests who may utilise a wheelchair or similar assistance device (e.g. for distance) (and include features such as grab bars and shower seats in the bathrooms). Accessible Cabins: these cabins are designed for guest with highly limited or no mobility who utilise wheelchairs or other similar assistive devices (and include features such as turning space; accessible routes throughout the cabin; and accessible bathrooms). As with all Carnival reservations, staterooms within each category are assigned on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, it is advisable to reserve an accessible or modified stateroom in advance. Standard Cabins: these cabins have an approximately 22"-30" entry doorway an 8" lip into the cabin bathroom, a 4" lip into the shower stall, and 7" lip to the balcony (if applicable). Mobility Scooters: Passenger scooters must be stored and batteries recharged in your stateroom. Due to safety considerations, wheelchairs and scooters cannot be stored in the corridors. Your personal scooter should be able to fit in a standard stateroom with a 21" entry doorway. If your scooter is larger than 21", you must purchase a modified stateroom or rent a smaller scooter. Segways and other similar vehicles are not permitted onboard Carnival vessels.

                                                        Deaf / Hard of Hearing

For guests who are deaf or hard of hearing a portable room kit is available if requested prior to sailing. It includes a visual-tactile alert system that provides alerts for the door knocking, telephone ringing, alarm clock and smoke detector. Service Dogs

Carnival Cruise Lines only permits service/working dogs onboard, a working/service dog is legally defined and is trained to meet the disability related need. Carnival do not allow guests to sail with therapy/companion dogs or service dogs in training. Service dogs must have current vaccinations; these vaccinations are in addition to what governing port officials require. Please know that many of the ports you may visit will only accept annual rabies vaccinations. The three-year rabies vaccination is not recognised in many countries. It is the guest’s responsibility to contact the Department of Agriculture or your Service Dogs Veterinarian to obtain information on the requirements at each port. The failure to have the required vaccinations or documentation may result in your service animal not be able to disembark or quarantine. If you choose to disembark the ship in a visiting port of call, in which your service dog does not have the required documents, or you choose to leave your service dog onboard. You must make arrangements for the care of your dog. The ship's staff cannot care for the dog, nor can the dog be left in the stateroom unattended. Please carry the original records of vaccinations and any permits required for visiting ports of call with you while traveling. A copy of these permits must be left with the Guest Services desk upon boarding.

                                                        Special Dietary Requirements

We don’t all have the luxury of dropping our diets when we go on vacation. If you’ve got an eye on what crosses your plate, we’ve got your back. Carnival’s chefs are specially-trained to prepare food options for a variety of diets — vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, Indian vegetarian, or food low in carbs, fat, sugar or cholesterol — so you don’t have to let your dietary restrictions restrict you from having a great time. Or from having seconds.

Most simple diet requirements can be accommodated onboard. Carnival do not have Dieticians onboard; therefore, they can only offer assistance with simple requests such as the method of preparation (including no cross-contamination) of menu items. If you have a food allergy, please consult with the dining staff for assistance with meal options and food preparations. Arrangements for all special diet requirements need to be arranged with the guest's Head Waiter on the first night of the cruise. Carnival Cruise Lines can provide their guests with the following special dietary needs: Vegetarian, Low-Cholesterol, Low-Fat, Low-Carbohydrates, Low-Sugar, Gluten Free, Indian Vegetarian, and Kosher. For Indian Vegetarian and Kosher meals, two weeks advance notice prior to your cruise is required. Guests are kindly asked that they please inform the dining team so they can discuss their meal options. Additionally, Carnival also request guests advise the dining team of any food allergies guests have. Any special dietary and food requests can be accommodated in the main dining rooms only.
