In honor of some of the most memorable ships in Holland America Line’s history, our third Pinnacle-class ship (and new flagship) will be named Rotterdam. This new addition to our fleet will fill your journey with a rhythm all its own, putting music front and center, creating the soundtrack to the discoveries you make every day. At the heart of it all is Music Walk: an exclusive collection of five venues featuring live music and electrifying performances from accomplished musicians, dancers and artists every night. The Dining Room

For an elegant breakfast, leisurely lunch or unforgettable multi-course dinner, The Dining Room is your destination. Behind the scenes, our Culinary Council,® an elite team of seven world-renowned chefs, and our talented onboard executive chefs have worked to bring each dish to perfection. For dinner, choose from classics such as Boneless Lamb Loin en Croute, Rosemary Roasted Chicken, as well as regionally inspired cuisine and artfully prepared vegetarian dishes. Enrich your journey with an extensive selection of wines, carefully selected by our Wine Curator, world-renowned wine critic James Suckling.

Pinnacle Grill

Reserve a table in the intimate Pinnacle Grill for lunch or dinner and celebrate the day’s adventures with cuisine inspired by the bounty of America’s Pacific Northwest. In this elegantly appointed room, service is warm and engaging, and a meal is an event. The menu focuses on premium ingredients expertly prepared—from wild-caught king salmon from Alaska to sustainably raised beef from Washington State’s Double R Ranch. And, every evening in this venue offers a chance for you to experience the signature recipes of Culinary Council Chef David Burke. Complementing your perfectly prepared meals are boutique wines from the Pacific Northwest and other celebrated vineyards from around the world.

Canaletto

In Italy, there’s nothing more important than coming together to celebrate the joy of great food. This is the inspiration for our onboard Italian restaurant, Canaletto. Enjoy amazing Italian classics like braised chicken cacciatore al forno, branzino ai ferri or garlic shrimp ravioli. And for dessert: tiramisù, cannoli alla Siciliana, gelato, and more. Lido Market

Explore a world of intriguing culinary possibilities in the Lido Market. Steps from the Lido pool, this modern marketplace includes a curated selection of delicious options that you can grab on the go or have made to order: Breadboard, with freshly baked breads and pastries; Wild Harvest, offering a bountiful selection of hearty salads; Homestead, serving up comfort classics; Distant Lands, featuring global; Sweet Spot, for ice cream creations and desserts; Roasting Pan, hand-carved meats, fish and other hearty entrees; Perk, freshly brewed beverages and chilled juices; Quench, premium coffee, beer, wine, and soda; Rise, savory quiches, croissants and sandwiches, and more.

The Mainstage

Showcasing comedy, song, dance and more, the Mainstage presents myriad performances and presentations to entertain and inform throughout your voyage, including Holland America Line exclusives such as the BBC Earth Experiences live show Planet Earth II in Concert.

Casino Action

Play perennially popular slot machines, and enjoy blackjack tables and the latest in sophisticated gaming. The Casino is staffed with professionals eager to help you learn new skills.

Crow’s Nest

Holland America Line offers you a wide selection of lounges onboard. The panoramic view takes center stage in The Crow’s Nest at the top of the ship, where you can relax just about any time of day and enjoy your favorite drink.

Explorer’s Lounge

The Explorer’s Lounge is an elegant and refined space to enjoy a glass of wine, a cocktail, or your favorite liqueur.

Fitness

Stop by the professionally staffed Fitness Center equipped with the latest cardio and weight machines. Try one of our classes on indoor cycling, Pilates and more or work out at your own pace. You can also head out for fresh air and exercise on deck, where you’ll find basketball and volleyball courts, and two refreshing pools (available on select ships). Some classes may have a nominal fee.

Kids Programs (Ages 3-6)

Highlights for kids ages 3 to 6 include “Painting Picassos,” and “Sing-Along Storytime,” as well as theme parties, such as “Dino-Mite Night” and “Ships Ahoy Pirate Treasure Hunt Adventure.”

Tweens Programs (Ages 7-12)

From ice-cream eating contests to gaming tournaments and theme parties, tweens will have plenty to enjoy.

Teens Programs (Ages 13-17)

Teen cruisers enjoy mocktail parties, karaoke and trivia contests, jewelry making, video games, staff vs. teens volleyball tournaments, themed events and more.

Port Day Activities

Club HAL activities are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on port days. Lunch is available for participants between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Children must be registered and signed into and out of programming by a parent or guardian.

Special Needs

Children with special needs are invited to attend Club HAL activities based on their chronological age; our staff is trained to work with special needs children. Please let us know when booking your reservation.

Safety Comes First

Safety is our primary concern and strict policies are in place for effective supervision. Adult guests are not permitted to remain in Club HAL unless attending to a special-needs child.

Onboard Shopping

Enjoy a wide variety of duty-free shopping in such signature shops as The Vault, Diamonds and Gemstones by Mirabella, which offers the best diamonds at sea, brought to you by Sophia Fiori.

Learn New Skills

Days at sea are the perfect time to explore new skills, from video-editing techniques to mastering the art of digital photography. Learn how to capture, enhance and organize images of your favorite travel memories.

Available Classes

Depending on your interests, you may want to attend all of the workshops or just a few. Each one is offered multiple times and days throughout your cruise. An additional Q&A session will be available every day.

Review and print downloadable PDFs of all the handouts you receive in class. They’re sure to come in handy when you want to replicate, at home, the video- and photo-editing techniques you learned on board.

America’s Test Kitchen

Holland America Line guests can experience America’s Test Kitchen’s enticing array of live onboard cooking shows and hands-on workshops. Learn foolproof techniques and user-friendly recipes for making delectable dishes with confidence. Designed exclusively with Holland America Line, this new culinary programming is currently available on select ships.

Holland America Line has partnered with O, The Oprah Magazine to combine the eye-opening, life-changing wonder of travel with the soul-expanding content found in every issue of the magazine. BBC Earth Experiences

We have partnered with BBC Earth to bring you unforgettable new ways to experience the world’s natural wonders. Through the innovative and breathtaking programming, guests will be taken closer to the ocean and the natural world through groundbreaking concerts and films.

Special Diets

Dietary Requirement Special dietary needs such as vegetarian, diabetic or gluten-free meals are easily accommodated with advance requests. Kosher meals and a Health Conscious Dining option are also available. To arrange special meals, please contact the Ship’s services Department at least 60 days prior to departure.
