Copenhagen Set For New Cruise Terminal in 2020

Copenhagen is set to receive a brand-new cruise terminal in 2020, which will be able to accommodate up to 5,000 passengers at once.

The new terminal has been given the all-clear by the Board of Copenhagen Malmo Port and will be constructed to meet the ever-growing demand from cruise lines to have more calls into the city. After assessment it was decided that the current facilities needed to be added to with another terminal building, Terminal 4.

Copenhagen features heavily in Baltic itineraries, and from May to September 2017 Norwegian Cruise Line based Norwegian Getaway in the city, and is set to be replaced by Norwegian Breakaway for the 2018 season.

“With this development, we are making sure that Copenhagen retains and develops its position as the leading cruise destination in Northern Europe,” says Barbara Scheel Agersnap, CEO of Copenhagen Malmö Port.

The new terminal is expected to open in 2020.
