P&O Cruises Australia confirms Service Announcements

P&O Cruises are announcing two important developments which provide an exciting picture of the P&O fleet of the future. It’s a future that is racing forward very quickly as we carry out the previously announced program to refresh the P&O fleet over time.

The 3000-guest Pacific Adventure is on track for a spectacular arrival in Sydney as she joins the P&O fleet in October 2020. The next 3000-guest ship will join the P&O fleet in late 2021 and will be named Pacific Encounter. In line with our previously announced program to refresh the fleet, Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria will be farewelled in 2021.

These are important developments in P&O’s fleet transformation to establish a base for the future. It is an exciting picture with the fleet comprised of Pacific Explorer, Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter.

The three ships combined have total guest capacity of 9,000 — that’s the equivalent of P&O’s capacity when we had a fleet of five smaller ships. They represent a great foundation for further growth and fantastic for your clients to cruise with Australia’s home brand cruise line.

It is sad to be saying goodbye to Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria — two much loved ships. Pacific Dawn’s departure is particularly significant. When she joined the P&O fleet in 2007, she led the resurgence of cruising in Australia, and introduced so many people to cruising. Pacific Aria is also close to the hearts of many of our guests.

Your attention will no doubt now turn to guests you have booked on Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria in 2021. Pacific Dawn’s last cruise with P&O will depart from Melbourne on February 8, 2021. Pacific Aria’s last cruise with P&O will sail from Melbourne on April 9, 2021.

Only a small number of guests have bookings on cruises beyond these dates. These guests will be offered alternative cruise options or a full refund if no suitable substitute can be found. There are also great options for guests who want to sail on Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria for their final P&O cruises.
