For over 30 years, Rocky Mountaineer have welcomes guests from around the world to experience luxury rail journeys and see some of the most spectacular scenery North America has to offer. Their world-renowned trains travel from April to October only by daylight in Western Canada and the American Southwest, offering breath-taking views of the Canadian Rockies and red rock landscapes.

A DAY ONBOARD.

From the moment you step onboard the spacious glass-dome coach, relaxation flows over you as you recline and sink into your cosy seat. The friendly Hosts greet you, and a buzz of excitement fills the air

Before long, you enjoy your first meal of the day which is inspired by the region in which you are travelling through. Your savour every bite and it leaves you with a warm glow of satisfaction as you take in the breath-taking scenery. Then, just when you thought you could not get any closer to nature, you visit the outdoor viewing area, step into the crisp fresh air, and take it all in.

You fully immerse yourself in the experience, gazing at extraordinary views and losing all sense of time as you dive into conversation with fellow travellers and your Host team. Then, you and your travelling companions, old and new, sit for your next meal. As each delicious course is served, your Host shares the history of the rail route and region, giving you an even greater appreciation for everything you see.

You continue meandering through natural wonders, with a drink in hand, as the sun starts to set. But the enjoyment continues as you are transported to your hotel, where you rest for the evening. As you lay down, you reminisce over the perfect day that is just about to end, and you can’t wait to see what wonders tomorrow brings.

Regardless of the service level you select or the route you travel, look forward to delicious cuisine to nourish you on your journey. The Executive Chef and culinary team have put together a diverse selection of snacks, signature drinks and regionally-inspired meals that you can enjoy on your journey, including select dining options that can be customized to suit your dietary requirements. The areas Rocky Mountaineer travel through serve as the inspiration for the delicious food and drinks. Courses are made from ingredients that come from the farms and fields in the regions you travel through, and they offer a variety of local wines and craft beers.

Rainforest to Gold Rush

Enjoy some of the most breathtaking and varied rail scenery found anywhere in the world on this route. Travel past stunning lakes, through the coastal rainforest and the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon into the vast ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau. Visit the Gold Pan City of Quesnel, journey through the Rocky Mountain Trench, be awestruck by spectacular Mount Robson, and arrive in the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies.

Journey through the Clouds

Travel through scenic valleys, the Coast Mountains range and the Fraser Canyon with its spectacular white water rapids and dramatic landscape. You will follow the route of the Fraser River, home of British Columbia’s largest salmon run, pass by the Albreda Glacier and magnificent Pyramid Falls, and hopefully see wildlife on the way. The highlight of this route is majestic Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.

First Passage to the West

Travel through the legendary Spiral Tunnels and pass by Craigellachie, the spot where the last spike on the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. This is the only passenger rail service on this historic route, celebrated for connecting Canada from East to West. Traverse the Continental Divide and be inspired by spectacular mountains and dramatic canyons. If you’re a history buff, this route is for you.
